Have a Winning Hand with Jack Spade

Posted July 20th, 2011 by AB

Are you ready for Jack? Jack Spade that is. Co-founded by fashion designer, fellow New Yorker, and Kate Spade’s very own hubby, Andy Spade, Jack Spade is giving you something to feel lucky about. Blending practicality with a modern twist, these goods will undoubtedly leave you in the winner’s circle. We’ve paired Jack Spade with accessories by Gabriella Sarlo for a hand that’s sure to win at our client in The District.

Add a twist to your standard suit with this intricately detailed pocket square and make sure all systems are a go by peering into this sleek mirror before your early AM meeting.

Who says messenger bags are out? Not us! We love this two toned, leather and linen bag so much we’re using these wall sconces to make a statement in the entryway of 111 Fulton.

This Friday loosen that tie, kick your feet up on this smooth velvet bench and take a slug of your favorite bourbon from this hard to miss flask.

Its been said that orange is the new black and that theory rings true with us. Vintage sports car connoisseurs will love this monza leather cardholder almost as much as we love this tufted Salvo chair, well…almost.

Looking for a bit more color in your collection? How about this waxwear computer file case? Need a dollop more? That’s just what you’ll get from Sarlo’s “Dollop” painting. We’re ordering 2!

Relax with Tommy Hilfiger

Posted July 12th, 2011 by AB

Wouldn’t it be nice to finally get out of this heat? Throw on your favorite Tommy Hilfiger polo and shorts and vacation on New York’s beautiful Hampton beaches, where we found our newest inspiration. Can’t make the trip just yet? Take it home! We’re bringing the beach feel to a different kind of island… the Island of Manhattan, with help from One Kings Lane, at prize winning architect, Frank Gehry’s newest creation: New York by Gehry.

Bring in the beach with this beautifully embroidered nautical knot pillow found in the same gorgeous, neutral hue as this jacket from Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2011 menswear line.

Bury yourself in the folds of this plush, tan throw, a color that’s also reflected in this outfit.

Find comfort in nature and all of its artistic glory with this fine coral painting by Pierre-Joseph Buchoz, also found on One Kings Lane; a portrait that caught our eye thanks to the similar tints on this model.

Ready for something as daring as this Tommy look? Refresh your room (and your senses) with this vibrant coral print throw pillow.

Add this hand crafted Fish Tray by artist Victoria Fischetti to your collection. Its well detailed and defined color are sure to catch asmany glances as this look from Tommy ‘s collection.

Can’t collect sea shells by the shore? You can always take these belle banquet bluefish placemats home instead. Try a rich flair of color as this gentleman does in this piece.

AB Toasts Top Chef Marcus Samuelsson

Posted July 6th, 2011 by AB

What does Harlem’s Red Rooster and Chicago’s C-House have in common? They’re both owned by none other than celebrated top chef Marcus Samuelsson.  His unique and rich cuisines filled with diverse spices and sensuous aromas have attracted the attention of a number of high powered celebs including our very own Barak Obama. Yet it doesn’t stop there. If there’s anyone who’s not afraid of using bold colors, it’s Samulesson.

In line with its name sake, two brazen red roosters greet you at the Red Rooster in Harlem. Spice it up Christopher Sharp’s Piper rug from the The Rug Company.

The yellow patterns on this piece by Suzanne Sharp (found at The Rug Company) do well to mimic the warm, yellow accents at the Red Rooster.

Take a moment or two to admire the bar as you sip your favorite drink.  We think Alexandra Champalimaud’s rug design, Navaho Red, would compliment it perfectly.

The entrance to Samuelsson’s C-House in Chicago utilizes the same ice blue shade found in this Moses Ice Rug, also by Sharp.

Step forward into the dining room at C-House and onto this richly toned carpet. It’s use of repetition and vertical designs matches this Tibetan wool rug well.

The C House also offers this breathtaking view of Chicago as you lounge on their hardwood floors. Replicate this natural look with the Grid from The Rug Company.

Reveal the Beauty Behind Beauty and Essex

Posted June 28th, 2011 by AB

A walk down the streets of the Lower East Side may send you past what appears to be an unassuming 50’s style pawn shop by the name of Beauty and Essex but don’t get your old rolex out too quick.  A closer look reveals the newest NYC hotspot equipped with four dining rooms, two bars, and a lounge filled with eye catching attractions at every corner (attractive men and women alike). As the brain child of Stanton Social’s Chris Santos, this restaurant and lounge inspired our senses on every level. As we begin to work on our new endeavor at the Greystone we’re taking a page out of Santos’s book and bringing a chic lounge feel to the Upper West Side.

The entrance to the restaurant draws the eye with its play on fonts. This frame is beautiful…it says so.

Taking inspiration from the restaurant’s graceful spiraling staircase we found this bookshelf at Jayson Home and Garden, a shop located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park, with its own play on curves and bold lines.

Upstairs, Beauty and Essex’s Pearl Chandelier drapes over its ultra exclusive lounge. The pearl color of this Serena Drum chandelier has a similar effect on brightening up a room…and ones spirit.

From one room to the next tufted sofas similar to this armchair offer’s plenty of plush seating.
